Upcoming auction by Brunk Auctions offers works by eminent artist from 19th and 20th century
Dec 05, 2020 09:00 ESTJean Dufy ventured into the art world without any formal training. Taking inspiration from a gallery exhibition, his first show was held in 1914. Dufy’s paintings started to be recognized for their colorful renditions of post-war Parisian society. The third session of the upcoming Brunk Auctions event offers a selection of Dufy paintings. Le Bassin de la Manche, Marrakech and Place Blanche are some of the highlighted works.
A rare American Queen Anne filigree and wax sconce will be available as well. The piece was likely created in Boston during the 1730s. It features a scrolled paper gilt-edged urn with elaborate arrangements and a single brass candle arm. A selection of decorative art, furniture, and collectibles is also on offer.
