Jean Dufy ventured into the art world without any formal training. Taking inspiration from a gallery exhibition, his first show was held in 1914. Dufy’s paintings started to be recognized for their colorful renditions of post-war Parisian society. The third session of the upcoming Brunk Auctions event offers a selection of Dufy paintings. Le Bassin de la Manche, Marrakech and Place Blanche are some of the highlighted works.
A rare American Queen Anne filigree and wax sconce will be available as well. The piece was likely created in Boston during the 1730s.
