The Gorham Manufacturing Company began producing silverware and other sterling pieces in 1831. Gorham’s notable creations include America’s cup for yachting and the Davis cup for tennis. A silver Gorham basket is offered in the second session of Charlton Hall Auctioneers’ upcoming sale. This vintage item from 1916 is decorated with foliage and flowers. Beyond silverware, a selection of furniture, fine art, and jewelry will be available.
Included is a Tahitian necklace of thirty-five dark gray pearls. These pearls were organically formed from the black lip oyster, which is native to Tahiti. Other items, including a Louis XV-style pier mirror and a marble-top console table, can also be viewed. Visit Invaluable for further information and to register to bid.
