The Naked City AM – Session 1

Womanly figures have inspired many painters from early art movements to the present day. Whether it is celebrated for its graceful features or curves, the female figure continues to shift ideals of beauty. From Fernand Léger to Guy Johnson, artists have used their unique perspectives on nudes to make a collective impact on social norms. Works of such artists are being offered at the first session of The Naked City AM by Capsule Gallery Auction.

This auction features the work of Fernand Leger. Regarded as a forerunner of the pop art style, Fernand Leger’s art is a study of female figures associated with cubism. Directing the viewer’s attention towards the untouched wilderness is a photograph by Ansel Adams.
