The David and Janice Frent Collection Presidential & Political Americana, Part VI Signature Auction Session-2
Sep 22, 2019 11:00 CDTAs the next installment of the David and Janice Frent Collection comes to auction, there is certainly cause for great excitement. Heritage Auctions will bring two days of political and Americana memorabilia across the auction block, covering over 800 total items. The Frents’ collection is one of incomparable size and quality, making this auction an incredible opportunity to access items that truly have no equals.
The first session of this auction includes 425 items ranging in starting bid from $100 to $20,000, a testimony to the size and scope of the Frents’ collection. Without a doubt, the crowning jewel of this auction is an 1840 silk campaign flag endorsing the Whig Party’s Henry Clay for president. A delicate and detailed lot, it is remarkable in both its high quality and rarity. Posters, displays, badges, buttons, and countless other political memorabilia are available in this session.
The following day represents an eclectic mixed bag of items, covering dozens of national campaigns and their trail of materials. A cloth flower boutonniere depicts the faces of McKinley & Roosevelt during their 1900 run; a colorful vintage button shows a woman in white marching forward for suffrage. An extraordinary photograph captures the first female presidential candidate, the early feminist and activist Victoria C. Woodhull. These items and many more comprise the most comprehensive record of national politics. To explore both extensive sessions of this incredible collection, visit Heritage Auctions.
