Lee Bouvier Radziwill visited India with her sister, Mrs. John F. Kennedy, in March 1962. Radziwill’s detailed and rare photographic record of their semi-official trip is a notable item in the upcoming October auction by Christie’s. The 168 items presented are from the Collection of Lee Bouvier Radziwill, who was an American socialite, public-relations executive, and interior decorator.
You can also find jewelry, fine and decorative arts from her homes in New York and Paris in the sale. Another high-value item is a folio album titled “Visit to Pakistan”. It consists of 20 leaves with 44 photographs mounted within. Art collectors should also consider an oil on canvas piece named ‘Tigers in a Landscape’ by Jacques-Laurent Agasse. Agasse was an animal and landscape painter from Switzerland whose love for animals could be vividly seen in his work. For more information please visit Christie’s.
