Salvador Dalí Lithographs, Frank Stella Prints, and Other Rarities to Sell at Dane Fine Art

Dane Fine Art’s upcoming two-day auction includes hundreds of works by some of the world’s most notable artists. Leading the first day of the sale is a limited-edition lithograph work by Salvador Dalí titled Cyclopean Make-Up. In his artwork, Dalí used Surrealism as a means to express unconscious creativity. Featuring one of the artist’s rarest series, this piece stands as part of his suite, “Imaginations of Objects of the Future.” The artist draws the Cyclops with makeup in orange and green, creating a collage-like appearance. This lot is hand-signed by the artist and includes a certificate of authenticity. Another notable fine artwork in the catalog is a 1990 serigraph by Leroy Neiman, titled Bay Area Baseball. This hand-signed lot belongs to a limited edition of 450. The available work is a colorful tribute to the many legendary players who played in the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area in the past.

Among the top lots on the second day of this event is Frank Stella’s lithograph work titled Polar Co-ordinates II. An American artist, Frank Stella is known for the geometric manipulations and abstract compositions of his works. Polar Co-ordinates II is part of the Polar Co-Ordinates for Ronnie Peterson series of ten lithographs. As with Stella’s Saskatchewan Series paintings, the prints feature layers of lithography and screen-printing.
