The upcoming sale of Prints & Multiples, presented by Heritage Auctions, will offer glimpses of the surreal world of Salvador Dalí, André Brasilier, Joan Miró, and other celebrated artists. Featured in this auction is a set of three bound portfolios that contain color woodcuts by Dalí. These watercolor renditions reference Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, showing the narrator’s journey through the underworld, purgatory, and paradise.
Also available in the auction is a piece by Banksy, titled Di Faced Tenners. The piece belongs to a collection of counterfeit currency that Banksy released as a public art stunt. This series refers to the loss of the late Princess Diana and her estrangement from the royal family, replacing the original image of the British Queen with that of the princess. Lithographs and lenticular prints will also be presented in the auction, including popular culture images by American painter Mel Ramos.
