Patek Philippe Nautilus Headlines NY Elizabeth’s Luxury Watch Collection Auction
May 29, 2022 12:00 EDTA Patek Philippe Nautilus 5712 will headline NY Elizabeth’s upcoming Luxury Watch Collection event. Patek Philippe’s Nautilus Collection, designed by Gérald Genta and named for the fictional ship in Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870), was launched in 1976. The 5712 model found here made its first appearance in 2006. Like the 5711 model, the 5712 watch has a 40-millimeter case in the shape of a ship’s porthole and an octagon-shaped bezel with a blue embossed dial. However, the 5712 has additional features including a moon phase display, a running seconds sub-dial, date display, and a power reserve indicator. This Nautilus has an automatic movement, a power reserve rating of 38 to 48 hours, and is water resistant up to 60 meters.
Also available is a limited edition IWC Le Petit Prince watch. Only 250 of these watches were made. Features include a perpetual calendar with date, day, month, four-digit year, and perpetual moon phase displays, and a chronograph function with hours, minutes, and seconds. Designed with the pilot in mind, this watch also has a flyback function and comes with a convex sapphire glass made with an antireflective coating on both sides that is secured against displacement by drops in air pressure.
