In the upcoming sale, GWS Auctions will present jewelry and accessories with an emphasis on jade items. A jade Buddha pendant is one of the featured lots. Made from Type A jade, this pendant is finished with an 18-karat white gold mounting and diamond accents. In Chinese culture, jade is considered a lucky stone. Often known as the “Stone of Heaven,” jade symbolizes prosperity, success, and good luck. Among the jades, Type A is considered most valuable, only worn by leaders and emperors as a symbol of power. Cocteau’s collection features three precious alloys situated inside one another, each carrying a particular meaning.
