Mecum Auctions’ Kissimmee 2024 Sale Showcases 1966 Ford GT40 MkI Road Car and 1972 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Coupe

A 1966 Ford GT40 MkI road car is a leading lot in the Kissimmee 2024 auction, presented by Mecum Auction Company. This GT40 MkI stands out among automotive rarities as a fine example of an original road car. With 13,442 miles on the odometer, this vehicle is one of only 30 GT40 road cars manufactured in the original series. The car has not been in an accident and has never been damaged in its lifetime. In the past, Umberto Maglioli, a famed Porsche and Ferrari Works driver, owned the car. A 289 CI V-8 engine powered by Weber carburetors powers the GT40. Borrani wire wheels and a high-pressure oil pump complement the five-speed manual transmission from ZF.

Another notable lot in the catalog is a 1972 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Coupe. Third-generation Corvettes were produced from 1967 to 1982, making them the brand’s longest-running models.
