Bruneau & Co. Auctioneers’ upcoming New Year’s Day Premier Comic Auction offers comic collectors the opportunity to ring in the new year with fresh finds. The available selection of 20 comics from a single Midwest collector includes some of the highest rated comics of their kind. All are Marvel comics from the Silver and Bronze age, and all will be offered with no reserve.
Included in the sale is the first appearance of Iron Man in Tales of Suspense #39. The cover is by Marvel artist Jack Kirby. There are three copies of this issue in the sale, one of which carries a grade of CGC 8.5. Another highly valued comic up for bid is a copy of Fantastic Four #1. This comic features the origin and first appearance of Fantastic Four (Marvel’s first ever superhero team) and Moleman. Another of Jack Kirby’s well-known works appears on the cover. A copy of Amazing Fantasy #15, which brings the origin and first appearance of Spider-man along with Aunt May and Uncle Ben, is on offer as well.
