The magic of Hollywood is everywhere, from the larger-than-life personalities and the public excitement to the elaborate sets and costumes. In the upcoming memorabilia sale offered by Julien’s Auctions, many of these iconic outfits, accessories, and personal items will cross the auction block. This sale especially features items owned by Mae West, Marilyn Monroe, and Lucille Ball, some of the most recognizable faces on the silver screen. Monroe’s red sequined gown from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is one featured lot, just as it appears in the first scene of the 1953 film. Several of Mae West’s outfits are available, such as her layered con-artist costume shown in Every Day’s a Holiday.
Accessories worn by Rita Hayworth, furniture items from the home of Lucille Ball, and several annotated scripts will be included in the auction. Though many of the lots feature vintage pieces from past icons, items from the industry’s current stars will also be available. A chiffon halter dress worn by Halle Berry to the BET Awards in 2005 is a particular standout. To view the complete catalog and register to bid, visit Julien’s Auctions.
