From depictions of daily life to stories from Romania’s rich Biblical past, the paintings created by Nachum Gutman incorporate vibrant colors and expressive brushstrokes. Gutman’s works reflect his fascination with the land of Israel, often depicting the Arab community and people. One of his paintings, painted in 1950, will be available in the upcoming Israeli and International Art auction presented by Sotheby’s. This sale will also include fine art from artists such as Mordecai Ardon, Moïse Kisling, and Nir Hod.
One oil painting titled Bouquet De Fleurs is also featured in the sale. This 1951 piece was created by a French-Polish painter, Moïse Kisling, who was best known for his highly stylized works. According to Sotheby’s, “The paintings exhibited by Kisling appear to be in bloom, a symphony of live and pure colors.” Browse the full catalog and register to bid on Sotheby’s.
