An ultra-thin Audemars Piguet Gübelin (Ref. 5093) wristwatch made in the Vallée de Joux, the birthplace of Audemars Piguet, is a leading lot in the upcoming Holiday Jewels Online Auction from Hindman. The valley, nestled in the Jura Mountains of Geneva, is the birthplace of high-end Swiss watchmaking. The 18-karat white gold wristwatch offered in the auction is a rare time-only watch from Audemars Piguet, probably made in the 1950s or ‘60s. It is co-signed by the Swiss retailer Gübelin, one of the premier retailers of high-end wristwatches. The offered piece has a 35mm case diameter, textured white gold bezel, off-white dial, and black baton numerals. It also has a manual wind movement and an integrated black suede strap signed by Audemars Piguet. Another leading lot is a diamond ring with an old European cut diamond weighing 2.22 carats.
