Hermès Limited Edition Nata Swift and Osier Wicker Picnic Bag and Crocodile HSS Birkin 25 Come to Sale With Sotheby’s

The handmade Birkin tote bag was launched by French luxury goods company Hermès in 1984. It was named after Jane Birkin, the British-French singer and actress. Following a chance meeting with Birkin on a flight, Hermès’ chief executive Jean-Louis Dumas was inspired to create the sleek leather bag. The upcoming Sotheby’s sale will feature a significant collection of Birkin bags. One noteworthy piece is handcrafted from matte alligator leather in Vert d’Eau hue with Sellier gold hardware. The interior is lined in tonal Chèvre leather and comprises a lock, two keys, clochette, dust bag, felt protector, and box. Another notable HSS Birkin 25 bag on offer is designed with shiny porosus crocodile in emerald and yellow with brushed rose gold hardware. 

A limited edition Nata Swift and Osier Wicker picnic bag with palladium hardware also leads the listings. It is lined with tonal Swift leather inside. The sale features two striking mini Kelly II 20 bags. The Rose Scheherazade piece is fashioned in shiny alligator leather and lined in tonal agneau leather inside. The Gris Perle and Kraft matte alligator HSS one comes with a shoulder strap and its dust bag.
