Grace Hartigan Painting, Andy Warhol’s ‘Sunset’ Screenprint Lead Revere Auctions’ Upcoming Sale

This March, Revere Auctions will present a selection of fine artworks by contemporary artists and Abstract Expressionist masters. Among the highlights is a large oil on canvas painting rendered by American artist Grace Hartigan (1922 – 2008). Titled Dublin, this Abstract Expressionist painting is composed of muted colors with a dash of vibrant blue and purple hues. According to the auction house, this painting is part of Hartigan’s European Place painting series. On her return to the United States from Europe and Ireland, she produced this series of paintings from 1958 to 1959. 

A unique screenprint on paper by Andy Warhol (1928 – 1987) is another notable lot. The available piece is from Warhol’s Sunset series from 1972. It depicts a bold, yellow sun on a blue and green background. It is one of 632 unique prints created for the Hotel Marquette in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the auction house notes.
