When Christopher Slowinski emigrated to the United States and started Christopher Designs in 1981, he already had a background in classic jewelry design. His company is best known for creating a new type of gemstone cut, using 77 facets as opposed to the standard 48. “I have always been intrigued with taking something established and making it even more beautiful,” Slowinski said. One of the company’s multi-faced diamond engagement rings will be featured in the Gifting 101: Audubon to Vuitton auction presented by Ahlers & Ogletree. Over 650 lots will be available to coincide with the holiday season, including luxury jewelry, fashion, and furniture.
Several pieces from Louis Vuitton will cross the auction block, including a monogrammed pet carrier, a suitcase, and various travel bags. Modernist and 20th–century furniture is also available, including a craft high-back chair designed by Michael Gilmartin. The piece takes a creative approach to the traditional chair, with two-toned wood and a curved back and legs. To view the full catalog and register to bid, visit Bidsquare.
