Inspired by nature and his 60 pet birds, Hunt Slonem is known for his distinct Neo-Expressionist style. The upcoming Fine Modern Art auction, offered by Doyle, will highlight one of Slonem’s works, titled Oslo. His pieces employ bunnies, butterflies, and tropical birds as subjects, many of which often also appear in his large-scale sculptures. Slonem’s works are held in the collections of 250 museums around the world, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and the New Orleans Museum of Art.
American artist Chuck Close’s Self Portrait-pulp will be available as well. The piece is made of handmade paper pulp with 11 shades of gray paint. An expressive painting by Jacob Kainen will also be featured in the sale. View the full selection of fine art and register to bid by visiting Doyle.
