Lacloche Frères is a French jewelry brand founded in the 19th century that has boasted a range of royal clientele, including Queen Alexandra, the King of Greece, His Majesty George I, Napoleon III, and Edward VII. Founded by Hendricks Lacloche, the luxury brand has branches in Paris, London, and New York. The firm’s Art Deco-inspired jewelry was a result of the interest in Japonisme in Europe. Brightly colored stones and bold patterns were incorporated into this interwar style. The upcoming auction, offered by Alex Cooper Auctioneers, presents a platinum Art Deco bracelet by Lacloche Frères. An intricate technique to design platinum jewelry was developed by Lacloche artists to set the old European cut diamonds, caliber-cut onyx, and pearls.
Another highlight of the auction is an 18-karat gold, Colombian emerald, and diamond ring by Olivero Designs. A modern jewelry design studio in New York, Olivero Designs adopts advanced technology such as 3D printing for their custom jewelry pieces. This yellow gold ring features a bezel-set octagonal Colombian emerald and square modified brilliant-cut diamonds. Also showcased are Stieff “Williamsburg Shell” flatware services. This patterned silverware was made with Steiff’s hand chasing and repoussé techniques. Also offered are American coin sets, Elizabeth Locke Amalfi diamond earrings, jewelry by Tiffany & Co., and Baltimore silverware. Explore the full listings and register to bid online on Bidsquare.
