Popularly known as tanzanite, the blue and violet variety of zoisite is found exclusively in Tanzania. The gemstone came to be named after the country where it was discovered. A platinum Cartier ring set with an oval tanzanite stone is one of the highlights of Doyle’s upcoming Fine Jewelry auction. Another key lot is a Barry Kieselstein-Cord gold and diamond toggle link necklace. It has interlocking oval links and a toggle clasp set with 62 round diamonds. Also available is a platinum bow-clip brooch designed with 130 round, old-mine, and single-cut diamonds.
A polished gold and black jade bracelet signed “Tiffany & Co., Elsa Peretti” is another lot of interest. Tiffany recently celebrated its 45-year partnership with Peretti in 2019. The Italian designer first joined as an independent consultant and later signed a contract to create numerous pieces of silver jewelry for the company. Her work for Tiffany can be found at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the British Museum. To view the complete catalog and register to bid online, visit Doyle.
