In Anna Robertson’s (Grandma Moses) words, “I look out the window sometimes to seek the color of the shadows and the different greens in the trees, but when I get ready to paint, I just close my eyes and imagine a scene.’ Perhaps, one of her paintings ‘Over the Bridge’ offered by Shannon’s Auction was crafted in a similar fashion. The detailed oil on Masonite depicts a snowy neighborhood where it seems children are celebrating the snow.

Along with Robertson, Fine Art Auction features artists from the early 18th century to the 20th century; who explore animal paintings, nude works, landscapes, and many others. Artists like Percival Rosseau, John George Brown, Paul Cornoyer make the curation of 271 more valuable. Fernando Cueto Amorsolo’s oil on canvas is amongst the standouts. The painting from 1957 is signed “F. Amorsolo” and inscribed “Manila”. Likewise, Paul Cornoyer with his portrayal of Washington Square brings a sense of serenity in the auction.
