Montague Dawson’s Reef down is an oil on canvas depicting the clipper ships. Growing up on the edge of the sea in Southampton, Dawson spent his youth learning about shipping, sailing, and fishing. The time spent on the sea added to his skill of portraying realism in his work. Another lot is a painting by Julius Leblanc.
