The second session of the Decoy & Sporting Art Auction, offered by , is held in conjunction with the Easton Waterfowl Festival. This celebration benefits waterfowl habitats throughout the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. The upcoming auction will feature the tools and art of hunting and fishing, especially birding items, fishing decoys, and carved sculptures.
A featured lot of this auction is a pair of red breasted mergansers by Elmer Crowell of East Harwich, Massachusetts. The paint on the decoys is all original with light gunning wear and a small area of restoration. Also of note are three upright penguin decoys, including an Adelie penguin by Charles Hart. This item is in near mint condition with original paint. Carvings of songbirds, gulls, mounted fish, and many bird species are also for sale. Finally, a set of early market shotguns will be available, as well as a box of Leroy L. Leland shotgun shells.
