Dane Fine Art Offers Prints, Artworks by Roy Lichtenstein and James Havard in Upcoming Auction

A selection of original fine artworks rendered by prominent artists will lead the upcoming Freedom Sale of Modern & Contemporary Art from Dane Fine Art. This includes Roy Lichtenstein’s signed print titled American Indian Theme V (From American Indian Theme Stories). This is an original woodcut on paper rendered in 1980. According to the auction catalog, this offered piece is in excellent condition and belongs to a rare limited edition of 50. Born on October 27, 1923, in New York City, Lichtenstein was a significant figure in the 1960s Pop Art movement. The available lot features a bold color palette and hard-edged forms, which is the trademark style of Lichtenstein.  

Additional lots of interest in this auction include an oil and mixed media on canvas sculpture by James Havard, titled Navaho. The American artist was famous for his Abstract Illusionist creations. He graduated from Houston State College and later enrolled at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. In addition to paintings, Havard also produced prints, collages, and sculptures. Bidders can consider a 1923 etching by Louis Icart titled Motorcar, Mr. Brainwash’s serigraph on paper The Cat And The Heart, and an original painted metal sculpture by David Gerenstein.
