Arts Foundation of Cape Cod Online Silent Auction

The upcoming Online Silent Auction, presented by the Art Foundation of Cape Cod, aims to support, promote, and celebrate the diversity of arts and culture in Cape Cod. Featured in the event are works by artists who have played a significant role in shaping the area’s art scenes. A lot highlighted in the event is Jim Holland’s Late Afternoon Shadows. The oil on canvas by the 2018 Pops by the Sea commemorative artist is a realistic depiction of a cottage facade. Holland often captured the light and space near the ocean, weaving a sense of solitude in his paintings. 

This timed auction offers 36 lots. Among them is a sculpture titled Cape Cello by Joyce Utting Schutter. Cape Cello is one of three pieces created for the 2019 Pops by the Sea concert. It was manufactured using abaca, steel, thread, and brass. Pure powdered pigments were used to color the piece. Peter Batchelder’s Marsh Grass is available as well.
