American & European Works of Art: Fine Prints, Multiples & PhotographsSep 25, 2019 12:00 EDT - Sep 26, 2019 17:00 EDT
American & European Works of Art: Fine Prints, Multiples & Photographs auction includes the artistic talents of Helen Frankenthaler, Andy Warhol, and Pablo Picasso. Skinner has put on a great auction, starting with a woodcut by Helen Frankenthaler (1928-2011). “Tales of Genji III” is a beautiful gray woodcut with several hues of blue, and was created in 1998.
A 1970 Andy Warhol screen-print named “Flowers” is also available. This framed screen print featuring vibrant yellow, red, and violet flowers was originally used in the 1964 issue of Modern Photography. Another item highlighted is “Banderilles” by Pablo Picasso. The signed and framed second edition print showcases two men, or banderillos, at a bullfight, waiting with a dart to hit between the bull’s shoulder blades at first chance.
