A Rare Steinway & Sons Duo-Art Baby Grand Piano Featured at the Upcoming Atlanta Auction Gallery Event

Designed by Clara Driscoll and Alice Gouvy, Dragonfly lamps are one of Tiffany & Co.’s most recognized pieces. The design was the founder’s favorite for its Asian art significance. The upcoming event by Atlanta Auction Gallery presents a circa 1910 Dragonfly lampshade by Tiffany Studios. The mosaic and enamel decorated lead glass lamp has a twisted vine bronze base and cabochons adornments. 

Another highlight is a 1921 Steinway & Sons Duo-Art baby grand piano. Reproducing pianos are rare, like this fully restored serial #205657 model and can reproduce music effects like an actual pianist. Steinway collaborated with Aeolian Company to create these Duo-Art reproducing player-equipped instruments. The available player piano has an American Walnut cabinet, restored strings, keys, pinboard, and pump box. 

Showcased is Children in Masks by celebrated street photographer Helen Levitt. The 1942 photograph depicts three children in masks standing on the pavement of their home. Levitt’s work is notable for its theatric expression and influence of surrealism. 

The auction also features extensive model railroads and toy trains by renowned toy company Lionel Corporation. Lionel train model sets were famous for their solid construction and authentic detailing. A Lionel #400E Blue Comet set with a locomotive engine and passenger cars is notable.
