A Ferrari 275 GTB Leads Upcoming Mecum Auctions Sale
Aug 12, 2021 10:00 EDT - Aug 14, 2021 10:00 EDTA Ferrari 275 GTB/6C Long Nose is a key highlight in Mecum Auctions’ upcoming sale. After the success of Ferrari’s 250 GT Lusso series, Ferrari launched the 275 GTB in 1964. It was the company’s last dual-purpose sports car. The car was the only road car to feature a five-speed transaxle which offers improved weight distribution and an independent rear suspension. The 275 GTB was built by Scaglietti and designed by Pininfarina.
A Ford Shelby Cobra also leads the sale. The car debuted in 2004 in Detriot when Ford joined forces with Shelby. It is known for its modern take on classic sports cars. Featuring four valves per cylinder, a 6.4L/605 hp Ford Advanced Powertrain V-10 engine powers the car. A Delahaye Type 135 Competition Court Teardrop Coupe is also available in the auction. It is one of six Figoni short-chassis coupes built in 1936. Powered by a low-mounted engine, this particular chassis includes a racing-style fuel tank.
