20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale

The upcoming 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale presented by Phillips Auction offers a curation of fine art. This sale gathers artworks by key artists of the 20th century, including Joan Miro, Roy Lichtenstein, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. One standout lot is The Ring by Jean-Michel Basquiat. Painted with acrylic and oilstick, Basquiat’s painting depicts a boxer in a fighting ring, lifting a spear above his head before a crescent moon. Also on display is Alberto Giacometti’s portrait of G. David Thompson, an American businessman. An Expressionist artist, Giacometti was best known for the portrayal of solitary figures.
