1961 Ford Galaxie Starliner Bubbletop Car Leads Midsummer Estates Auction by Clarke Auctioneers

The upcoming Midsummer Estates Auction by Clarke Auctioneers will offer a variety of lots, including classic cars, jewelry, antique outdoor arm benches, cement statues, Asian art, paintings, and more. Leading the auction is a 1961 Ford Galaxie Starliner Bubbletop car. Originating from the Classic Bill Pratt collection in 2015, this is a very rare Z Code 1961 Starliner Bubble Top with the original 390 Tri-Power 401+ horsepower engine. It underwent a late 1990s restoration with an updated exhaust, suspension, electrical system, etc., and even has the period-correct American Racing wheels. The car is said to be in good condition inside and out. 

A George Nakashima (American, 1905 – 1990) double dresser made in the 1960s with an exposed dovetail case and two small upper flush drawers over six deep drawers with recessed pulls is notable among furniture. Two 19th-century Japanese Utagawa School woodblock prints of an Oiran (courtesan) with an attendant with Ryogoky Bridge in a circular cartouche signed by Kochoro Kunisada are also highlighted. A Knoll plexiglass and brass coffee table produced for Judy Garland in A Star is Born in 1953 is available as well.
