This superlative Doulton Lambeth glazed stoneware Neoclassical centerpiece vase was modeled c. 1879-1890 by sculptor, designer and decorator John Broad, whose work included a number of exemplary Victorian and Edwardian era architectural pieces, busts, statuary, and fountains, the latter upon which this monumental centerpiece is inspired. Modeled with three large allegorical Pan faun masks to footed base and a Bacchanal scene of six Greco Roman revelers encircling beneath the large central charger platter. Cobalt, green, tan, and other naturalistic colors. Artist mark to underside.
