Acetiam de stagnis & paludibus: necnon & de maribus: seu diuertis maris nominibus. Venice: Bonetum Locatellum for Octavium Scotus, 7th March, 1494. 4to (12″ x 8 1/4″). Leather spine, label, raised bands and gilt label, with faux woodgrained paper over boards. There is a total of 12 full-page woodcuts of genealogical trees, and ornamental woodcut initial letters throughout. Printers woodcut device on last page. The binding is in Poor condition; the covers are partially detached and very little of the leather remains on the spine (signatures are visible). The extremeties of the boards are worn, the laid on paper scratched and worn. Wormholes in the cover and first several pages. The leaves are overall Very Good; with light spotting, toning, soiling throughout. There is dampstaining at the bottom inner corners that extends through the entire work. One page with old marginalia. Free endpaper with early 20th century owner’s name.

Beautiful and Impressive Large Oversized Blue Antique Indian Floral Rug, Country of Origin: India, Circa Date: Turn of the Twentieth Century – Featuring ornate borders and a precisely drawn allover pattern, this large oversized blue background antique Indian floral design rug is an expressive and classical piece that show its age especially well. A beautiful, delicate shade of soft red, almost pale salmon, serves as the background hue for the stately series of borders. Within the extra large oversized rug, detail work is rendered in ivory, a ruddy orange, and a deep, royal blue. Vine scrolls, floral details, and precisely woven, classical vegetative detail elements appear throughout the borders, lending the carpet an immediate sense of complexity. The field both carries on and interrupts this direction: the deep blue field is covered with an exceptional allover design of flowing vine scrolls and sumptuous, the complexity of which is grabbing; however, ample negative space allows the background hue of royal blue to feature prominently as well.
