Evening dress of tangerine silk, gold & silver floral patterned lame’ w/ gold metallic lace long sleeves & broad hem flounce, floating back panel into symmetrical floor length rectangular cascades, drop W gathered to paste buckle at CF, bodice lined w/ silk chiffon, 1927, label “Callot Soeurs”, couture #14334, B approx. 38”, L 46”, (label partially detached & damaged, sm stains right sleeve & CF bodice, fraying underarm seams, light wear at collar, wear/discoloration hem of CB panels, few pulls esp. around W, wear to beads w/ few missing, 2.5” seam opening b/t gold lace & lame’ CB skirt, few broken brides, minor damage lining, 10” vertical opening in lower CB chiffon lining) Very Good. 2-pc sack-back open robe gown in warp ombre ribbon stripe w/ weft lace motif continuing into taffeta ground w/ broche’ rose bud, applied pinked horizontal ruffled swags to both gown & original full petticoat w/ tiered ruffle across front, engageante slv, photographed w/ stomacher not included (sold in lot 241), gown c. 1750, likely continental, textile 1740s, Wd 20”, gown B 30”-32”, W 24”, L 55”, petticoat W up to 24”, L 36”, (bodice altered, sm tears armscyes, 1.5” tear right W seam, wear spot/tear left W, few sm stains, light tidemarks across CB/seat area & CF petticoat hem w/ some light blue dye bleed, many loose stitches at hem/possibly let down, minor shattering & few repairs 3”-4” repairs petticoat W, petticoat ties replaced) Very Good.
