Wright Presents Luxury Furniture by Jacques Adnet, Fine Lighting and Decorative Art

Leading Wright’s upcoming Essential Design sale is a selection of modern furniture attributed to French architect and designer Jacques Adnet. Associated with the Art Deco movement and known for his leather furniture, Adnet specialized in luxury items infused with modernism. Notable lots attributed to the designer include a desk and chair set from circa 1955. Composed of saddle-stitched leather over iron with painted iron, oak, and brass, the set emphasizes clean, thin lines. Another available Adnet work from the mid-1950s is a round coffee table. Saddle-stitched leather covers the steel and brass frame. A glass top is included. 

Fine lighting is well-represented in this catalog. Notable lots in the category range from vintage Scandinavian designs to contemporary American examples. A bright orange Flowerpot chandelier by Danish interior designer Verner Panton is available. It is made of enameled steel and painted wood. The piece dates back to circa 1968. Bidders can also consider an 11-globe Branching Bubble chandelier by American designer Lindsey Adelman. The New York-based artisan is known for her playful branching designs made with industrial materials. Decorative artworks—including a closed-form porcelain vessel by Toshiko Takaezu and a tall vase by Guido Gambone—will cross the auction block.
