Wedgwood & Beyond English Ceramics from the Starr Collection

Sotheby’s presents the Starr Collection of English Ceramics, unarguably one of the best in its category, formed over fifty years with great passion and attention to detail. Multiple Minton pâte-sur-pâte vases designed by Marc Louis Emmanuel Solon are offered in the Wedgwood & Beyond English Ceramics from the Starr Collection Auction. 

A pair of Minton’s pâte-sur-pâte peacock-blue-ground vases titled ‘brewing mischief’ and ‘explosion’ (circa 1883) are among the most highly valued ceramics. Also featured are pieces of Royal Worcester designed by George Owen. A reticulated porcelain two-handled bottle vase pierced with honeycomb reserving a geometric design band and adorned with a band of pearls- a prime piece by the oldest porcelain brand. The collection will also reflect the diverse production of the Wedgwood manufactory, celebrating its 260th anniversary this year.
