Vintage Furniture, Gueridon Tables, and Canapés Available with Randall Tysinger AntiquesApr 07, 2021 12:01 EDT - Apr 21, 2021 20:00 EDT
Randall Tysinger Antiques will present a selection of vintage furniture in a timed April auction. An Italian painted and gilt cabinet is among the key lots. Its top set of doors highlights carved columns with gilded fruit and flowers. On the bottom, the piece includes hand-painted flower and ribbon decorations. Dark blue curtains, tucked behind each door, conceal the cabinet’s contents.
A Swedish marble top gueridon table will also be available in this sale. Created in 17th-century France, gueridon tables often feature a pedestal formed by a mythological or human figure. They typically include a round top to display a lamp or vase. The available gueridon table sports four-petal flower accents along the sides. Its dark gray marble top has a slightly beveled edge.
Bidders interested in French and English vintage furniture will find several examples in the auction catalog. A French Louis XVI-style canapé with laurel, ribbon, and floral accents will be presented in this auction. Designed to comfortably seat three people, canapés became popular in France before crossing the Atlantic under the influence of Thomas Chippendale. An English mahogany oval table, several wood dining tables, and various sideboards are on offer as well. Visit Bidsquare for the complete listings and to place a bid.
