Thanksgiving Sale

Tom Wesselmann was an American Pop artist who gained popularity during the 1960s for his figurative style of painting. Creighton-Davis Gallery offers the work of Tom Wesselmann in their upcoming Thanksgiving Sale. The available lot is a still life of objects such as a framed picture and several flower vases. “The prime mission of my art is to make figurative art as exciting as abstract art,” he once said. 

Among other pieces of fine art, a drawing by a French-Russian artist, Marc Chagall, is highlighted. Created in 1946, the framed artwork entitled Yizkor – The prayer of remembrance is scribbled with brown ink on paper. The auction also highlights multiple works of Pop Art such as Mel Ramos’s set of three color lithographs. The works of Ramos often combine female nudes with the concept of capitalism.
