Sterling Silver Flatware from Tiffany & Co., Graff Washbourne & Dunn Items Available in Upcoming Doyle at Home Auction

A Tiffany & Co. sterling silver Olympian set comprising 196 ounces of flatware is available in the upcoming Doyle at Home Auction, presented by Doyle. The large set contains forks, knives, spoons, a ladle, a sugar sifter, and a carving fork, which is enough for several courses of a meal. The auction will also offer other sterling silver decorations from Tiffany, a Graff Washbourne & Dunn sterling silver demitasse set, a Mexican sterling silver two-handled tray, a Gorham sterling silver hair brush, and a mirror set. Fine art lots in the catalog includes a Tully Filmus signed oil on canvas titled Gathering. In the painting, there is a gathering of Jewish men, young and old, talking to each other by a riverbank. Filmus (1903 – 1998) was a Bessarabia-born American realist painter who was friends with Willem de Kooning.

Among furniture, a Louis XV walnut console table attributed to Pierre Hache is available in this sale. This mid-18th-century console is related to the gilded console featured in Pierre and Françoise Rouge’s book, Le génie des Hache (2005 edition).
