The upcoming Sports Legends event, presented by Julien’s Auctions, features several FIFA memorabilia items. This includes a 2018 FIFA World Cup gold medal from a member of the winning French national team. The 2018 competition in Russia was the first World Cup ever held in Eastern Europe. In the final match, France took the lead with a penalty kick goal from Antoine Griezmann in the 38th minute and would go on to win 4-2 against Croatia.
FIFA memorabilia collectors can also consider a 1994 World Cup gold medal from a member of the winning Brazilian team. The final, between Brazil and Italy, was the first to end regulation 0-0 and enter a penalty kicks shootout. In front of over 94,000 spectators in California’s Rose Bowl Stadium, Brazil’s captain scored the winning penalty kick. Also representing Brazilian sports is a signed and game-worn jersey from Carlos Alberto Torres from the 1970 FIFA World Cup. Those interested in this or any other lot can register to bid on the Julien’s Auctions website.
