Luigi Rist was an artist who combined American style with Japanese woodcuts. One of these woodcuts is on offer in the Online Only Decorative Arts auction, presented by Pook & Pook, Inc. The framed piece shows a yellow dish with purple fruit and green leaves, all resting on a tabletop.
Two Ingraham wood clocks are also highlighted in this sale. Elias Ingraham was a clock case maker and designer from Bristol, Connecticut who worked during the 1800s. These Doric Sharp Gothic, or steeple, clocks stand 16” and 22” in height, respectively. The first wooden clock is detailed with two round bezels separated by circular designs. The second clock’s bezels are separated by an intricate flower. Other lots of interest in this auction include a Serapi rug, a large Middle Eastern silver box, and a set of late Chippendale upholstered mahogany chairs.
