Leading the upcoming sale from Hindman is a painting by Chinese artist Liu Dan. The artwork Narcissus was rendered in 2002. It portrays a bunch of slender leaves and an elegant stem from which a cluster of white flowers blooms. It is one of the many flower paintings which Dan produced in the late 1990s while living in New York. Fine calligraphy of poems and ancient verses about the narcissus flower also appears in the composition.
Another notable lot is a carved pale celadon jade Luohan boulder. The stone has a pale, even tone with intricate carving details. It shows a smiling Luohan holding a walking stick and seated atop a rocky grotto. The other side of the figurine features other rocks. A bronze tripod incense burner, probably belonging to the Ming or Qing dynasty era, is another key item. The burner in bombé form has a slightly flaring neck and everted rim. It stands on tripod feet and weighs approximately two kilograms. Several Chinese artifacts, classic furniture, ceramics, paintings by Asian artists, and other items are available in the sale.
