A ceramicist, painter, and sculptor, Guerrino Tramonti entered the Italian art scene during the 1940s. His work ranged from ceramic tiles and glazed terracotta disks to Modernist porcelain and paintings. When Tramonti tired of his Eastern-inspired pottery, he changed mediums and continued developing Italian Modernism in fine art. The upcoming Modern Decorative Art + Design auction presented by Bonhams will feature Tramonti’s glazed porcelain work. Of interest are several large geometric vases glazed in earth tones. The auction will also include lots from François-Xavier Lalanne, George Nakashima, and Carlo Scarpa.
Several Tiffany Studios leaded glass lamps will be presented in this sale as well. Extending from the turn of the century through the early 1920s, these lampshades display flowers and nature scenes. A Tiffany Studios floor lamp from the mid-1910s is also featured. Dogwood blossoms cover the glass in shades of cream, brown, and dark green, while the shade rests on a patinated bronze base. Modern furniture, sculpture, and fine art will also be on offer. View the complete catalog and register for bidding on Bonhams.
