Manny’s Music’s “Hall of Fame” Signed Photos of Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Nicks, and Others Presented by Julien’s Auctions
Feb 07, 2022 11:00 ESTAfter nearly 75 years serving the musical needs of rock ‘n roll greats such as KISS, Elton John, The Allman Brothers, Black Sabbath, and others, New York City’s Manny’s Music closed its doors forever. Saxophone salesman Manny Goldrich opened the legendary guitar store on Midtown Manhattan’s Music Row in 1935. After his 1968 death, ownership remained within the family until his grandchildren sold the company to Sam Ash in 1999. Now, items from Manny’s Music are coming to the market.
It took just four years for Jimi Hendrix to become widely recognized as the greatest and most influential electrical guitarist in rock ‘n roll’s history. In an upcoming sale, Julien’s Auctions will feature a pair of 1969 photocopied sale receipts of purchases made by Jimi Hendrix from Manny’s Music, both containing the musician’s signature. Included with the receipts is a paper titled Manny’s Music: Jimi’s Favorite Shop! Also offered is a black and white photograph of Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac. The framed photo is inscribed “Henry – Your Stevie Nicks” and is signed by the artist. View the auction’s contents and register to bid by visiting Julien’s Auctions.
