Leading Screenprints by Andy Warhol and Striking Lithograph by David Hockney Come to Sale With Bonhams

American visual artist Andy Warhol initially began his career as an immensely successful commercial illustrator. He explored the connection between artistic expression and celebrity culture of the 1960s through various media. An influential personality in the Pop Art movement, Warhol commenced his leading portfolio of screenprints in 1985, titled Reigning Queens. It contains 16 prints of the ruling queens of that age, including Queen Elizabeth II. A screenprint titled Queen Elizabeth II in colors on Lenox Museum Board is a key highlight of the upcoming auction, presented by Bonhams. It is signed in pencil and numbered 21/40 and published by George C.P. Mulder, Amsterdam. Another available artwork by Warhol, Kiku is a comprehensive set of three screenprints in colors on Rives BFK paper. Each print is signed in pencil and numbered 194/300, with the blindstamp of the publisher, Gendai Hanga Center, Tokyo. 

The Wave, a striking lithograph in colors on Arches paper by David Hockney, also leads the listing. Hockney has owned both a studio and residence in Bridlington, a seaside town in Yorkshire.
