Latest MusiCares Charity Relief Auction Set to Feature BTS, Coldplay, and Madonna MemorabiliaJan 31, 2021 13:00 EST
The Korean boy band BTS became the first k-pop group to debut at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 with their 2020 single, “Dynamite.” The outfits worn in the music video by each band member will headline the latest MusiCares Charity Relief Auction, presented by Julien’s Auctions. Representing BTS’ lead singer, RM, is a yellow ensemble featuring a Kangol hat, shorts, and a button-down shirt.
Coldplay fans will find a canvas painting of the band’s lead singer, Chris Martin, performing at a piano. The painting’s distinct background was made by artist Billy Morrison out of sheet music for “Fix You,” “Yellow,” and other Coldplay singles. Before beginning his career as an artist, Morrison survived years of addiction and homelessness. He wanted to spotlight Chris Martin in this piece because he believes Martin and Coldplay use music as a “language of love.”
Beyond music, bidders can also consider a basketball signed by noteworthy Boston Celtics players. The Celtics were one of the NBA’s original teams, and they are tied for the most NBA Championship wins in league history. Many of the players that helped the Celtics earn that distinction signed this ball, including Larry Bird and Bill Russell. It comes to auction directly from the collection of former Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers small forward Rick Fox. Those interested in this or any other lot can register to bid on the Julien’s Auctions website.
