The Interiors @1600 auction, offered by Freeman’s, presents marine art alongside vintage timepieces, prints, furniture, and other decorative items. One of the available paintings, by Thomas M. Hoyne, is titled French Encounter. An American artist, Hoyne served as a gunnery officer in World War II’s Pacific Theater. Hoyne’s paintings specialize in the history of sailing vessels. There are four other available works alongside the French Encounter, including Morning Breakout, The Widow Maker, and others.
Among the featured decorative art and furniture, a dining table by Tommi Parzinger is a standout. Lobel Modern describes the designer’s work as “… elegant and very refined, both meticulously crafted and luxurious.” Parzinger was an American immigrant from Germany. Success followed the artist after he opened his showroom, Parzinger Originals. Works from Charles Vickery, Gaetano Bellei, and George Washington Nicholson will be available as well.
