Hindman Offers Works From Mauro Perucchetti, KAWS, and Others

Hindman’s upcoming Stepping Into Tomorrow auction will present Mauro Perucchetti’s Sex and the City sculpture. Produced in 2011, the offered sculpture is made of pigmented resin, stainless steel, and Swarovski crystals. The piece displays 20 high-heeled shoes with colored crystal accents. After spending most of his early years experimenting with materials, Perucchetti pioneered his resin sculptures. His minimalist works explore a wide range of subjects, including the Pillsbury Doughboy, heart-shaped earrings, dollar bills, flying pigs, skulls, and pill capsules. Many of his pieces address the pressing social and political issues of society. 

Among the 248 available lots is a Companion sculpture from KAWS. The American artist is best known for his figurative cast sculptures that combine fine and commercial art. His works drew attention following the launch of his Companion series in the 1990s. The available signature cast figure has ‘X’s in place of eyes.
