Heritage Auctions presents a collection of vintage American coins in the upcoming FUN US Coins Signature Auction. The numismatic history of America started with colonial coins made of silver before later incorporating different materials and designs. The auction will offer a 1927 double eagle American coin, which is among only seven known examples that are publicly available. This particular coin is a Saint-Gaudens double eagle, one of the most scarce versions to be minted. Also on offer are Liberty double eagles and Liberty half eagles.
A 1794 Flowing Hair dollar and an 1892 Morgan dollar are other notable coins. Among colonial pieces, a 1652 New England shilling is a featured coin. These shillings were produced for approximately seven weeks before their production halted. They seldom come to auction. For other vintage and modern pieces, explore the full listings and register to bid online on Heritage Auctions.
