First Print of Bob Dylan’s 1964 Concert Poster & Autographed Album Featuring Original Photo of The Beatles Offered by Potter & Potter Auctions
Mar 30, 2023 10:00 EDTMany music enthusiasts consider Bob Dylan’s 1964 show at Philharmonic Hall, New York to be the greatest performance of his early career. It marked a significant transition from Dylan’s war protests to more personal music. Potter & Potter Auctions’ upcoming sale will feature the first print of the poster of this momentous concert. Measuring 21.5 by 14 inches, the poster has creasing on the corners, occasional edge wear, and soiling at margins. Another key highlight is a collection of Super Magician Comics, starring Harry Blackstone (Volume 1-11). With cream and off-white to white pages, it features art by Jack Binder, Jack Farr, James Hammon, John Meditz, and Charles Boland. The story was penned by Ed Gruskin, Bruce Elliot, Maxwell Grant, and Edna Hall.
An autographed album featuring an original onstage photo of The Beatles also leads the offerings. It consists of a yellow sheet signed by Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and John Lennon. The framed memorabilia also includes a signature of Ringo Starr on a newspaper clipping. On the verso are signatures of members of the UK rock group, The Shadows.
