Leading Hindman’s Palm Beach Furniture & Decorative Arts Auction is an extremely finely woven Persian Mohtasham Kashan wool carpet. This piece dates back to the late 19th century. Mohtasham Kashan carpets often deploy non-traditional designs and color palettes. Originating from the town of Kashan in Iran, these carpets were woven up to the end of the 19th century. Today, Mohtasham Kashan carpets are sought after by decorators and collectors for their high quality and distinctive design elements.
Another significant lot in the upcoming sale is a pair of George III giltwood mirrors. Each mirror has an oval mirror plate complete with a hand-carved and gilded mahogany frame. The mirror is surrounded by shaped leaves and tied ribbons at the bottom. The auction also offers a Louis XV gilt bronze mounted walnut bracket clock, a Goldscheider-painted terracotta figure, and antique paintings by artists such as Giovanni Ghisolfi, Conrad Wimmer, and Luigi Pompignoli.
